Sustainable architecture finds a home in Camerino

Sustainable architecture finds a home in Camerino

Un II^ level Master set on competence to enrich the labor market and give space to the circular economy.

Competence. For less than a month it has been the most used word among politicians. The government led by a super competent like Mario Draghi is rediscovering the value and seriousness of preparation and study. On balance and with the benefit of time (hopefully short), some government representatives up until yesterday on the other side will also benefit. In a more limited way to the issues of the environment, urban furniture, the circular economy, it is pleasing to learn that universities in a certain sense anticipate the « wave "politics. In Camerino, the University and the University School of Architecture and Design (SAAD) together with the Symbola Association have created the CIRCUL_AR II level international master's degree dedicated to the circular economy applied to architecture. It starts on April 22 to train technicians specialized in projects focused on eco-sustainability and circular architecture.

After years of constructions regardless of the habitat and urban compatibility, with the results we see, therefore, the need for the selection of materials, the good use of natural resources and their reuse is making its way. In a lasting perspective, certainly, but also an aesthetic one. A green road reserved for a broad category of graduates: in Architecture and Building Engineering, Design, Civil Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental and Land Engineering, Urban and Environmental Territorial Planning, Science and Engineering of materials, Conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. Applications to participate must be submitted online by 22 March.

The course is proposed as a link between training and the profession. But above all, they tell us, it pays new attention to building materials and the impacts deriving from their use. When you design, you must have at least three phases in mind: production, implementation and decommissioning. For this reason, in a professional horizon, on this side of what the great architects have created for the world, in Camerino they hope for a culture of construction oriented towards the principles of the circular economy. No futurism, just the use of waste materials as one of the most advanced objectives of sustainability applied to construction. Objective - here is the heart of the problem - « which however requires new skills that portend the birth of new markets as well as new creative possibilities in the field of architectural design ». Knowing how to imagine renewable buildings, recognizing and using reversible and disassembled technologies, using materials and designing spaces that use the least waste of energy, interpreting the standards referring to the CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria) and more, will be the driver to enter – enriching it – the labor market.

Architectural design today is mainly carried out in engineering or professional companies. They are mostly private individuals and work with large builders. They receive public orders. Between the private and the public, the time has come for Ministries, Regions and Municipalities to select and assign the work to competent and qualified figures. An effort that must find space in the vaunted ecological transition that will characterize the Draghi government with attached praise from the competent. At least so as not to see any more waste of money for horrendous public works, which are often even dangerous.
