In the short-term forecast model provided by Istat, the continuation of the Italian economic stagnation is recorded throughout the third quarter of 2014. Within a confidence interval between +0,2% and -0,2%, in fact, the cyclical change in GDP forecast for the August-October period is equal to zero.
Private consumption contributes nothing to the result of the cyclical change in GDP, while net foreign demand has an even lesser impact. Lastly, the dynamics of investments and inventories negatively affects the estimate. According to these forecasts, therefore, the growth acquired in the current year stands at -0,3%.
