According to Istat numbers, Italian exports fell by 0,7% on an annual basis in the first quarter of 2013, as a synthesis of the collapse of the islands (-9,7%) and of the South (-6,0%), of the decline of the North-East (-0,8%), of the positive result of the centre, up by 2,2%. Exports from the North-West are unchanged compared to the same period of the previous year.
On a cyclical basis, however, Istat recorded a 7,8% drop in exports from the South in the first quarter. Exports from the North-East and Central Italy also fell, losing 0,9%, while a slight growth was recorded in the North-West.
