#stayathome: Culture does not stop for the Royal Museums of Turin and the Chapel of the Shroud

First a series of images – paintings, busts, gilded stuccos, watches, shining armor, weapons, drawings and manuscripts – then an invitation to “Lose yourself in the labyrinths of the collections of the Royal Museums of Turin”, addressed by the director Enrica Pagella, who closed doors through the halls of Palazzo Reale up to the Chapel of the Shroud. The Royal Museums of Turin are participating in the Culture does not stop campaign, promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism with the aim of aggregating and increasing the offer of cultural heritage that can be enjoyed from home, with two videos published on the Youtube channel of the Ministry with the hashtag #iorestoacasa.

The first video is dedicated to the precious objects from prehistory to the beginning of the XNUMXth century in Palazzo Reale, the Galleria Sabauda, ​​the Armory of Savoy, the Museum of Antiquities, the Royal Library and the Sale Chiablese.

The second to the Chapel of the Shroud, returned to the public in 2017, symbolized by the large dome by Guerino Guerini with its interweaving of light and architecture.
In this period in which museums, archaeological parks, libraries, archives, theaters, cinemas are closed due to the coronavirus emergency, the Mibact, through a choral commitment of all its institutes, thus shows not only what is usually accessible to the public , but also the behind the scenes of cultural heritage with the numerous professionals who deal with conservation, protection, enhancement. Through the website and its social profiles on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the Ministry relaunches the numerous initiatives of the public and private institutions that adhere.
