The Ukrainian crisis and the impact on Intesa Sanpaolo's subsidiary Pravex Bank

Marco Elio Rottigni, Head of the International Subsidiary Banks Division of Intesa Sanpaolo - thethe only Italian bank present in Ukraine – commented on the situation in Ukraine and its impact on the subsidiary Pravex Bank which has about 780 people and 45 branches.

“We are deeply concerned about the fate of the people of Ukraine. Our first thought obviously goes to our colleagues at Pravex Bank, most of whom are still in Ukraine; we are doing everything possible to stay in constant contact with them”.

Then thanks to all the employees present in Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova who support colleagues and their families by finding suitable solutions for them or hosting them in their own homes. “We are also determined to support our Pravex customers as much as possible as well as all the people of Ukraine; wherever it is safe, we are in fact opening branches to provide essential banking services”.

Despite the delicate situation that is afflicting the country, "every day we manage to safely open some of our branches, especially in the western part of the country, where many of those fleeing the fighting are found. Our subsidiary banks located in Ukraine's neighboring countries are promoting and collecting donations to help those arriving from Ukraine, also ensuring that ATMs and exchange services are ready to handle the large influx of people”.
