Intesa Sanpaolo sells 1,3% of Generali Assicurazioni

The stake corresponds to approximately 1,3% of the Company's share capital, at a price of €16,60 per ordinary share (€16,90 yesterday's reference price), through an accelerated bookbuilt offering.

Intesa Sanpaolo sells 1,3% of Generali Assicurazioni

Intesa Sanpaolo, in a note released yesterday late in the evening, announces that it has successfully concluded the sale of approximately 21 million ordinary shares held in Assicurazioni Generali, corresponding to approximately 1,3% of the Company's share capital, at a price of €16,60 per ordinary share (€16,90 yesterday's reference price), through an accelerated bookbuilt offering.

The total consideration amounted to 347,8 million euro and resulted in a positive contribution for Intesa Sanpaolo in terms of net income on a consolidated basis of approximately 63 million euro. With the conclusion of this transaction, in the fourth quarter of 2013, Intesa Sanpaolo sold the entire investment held in Assicurazioni Generali as at 30 June 2013, recording an overall positive contribution to the consolidated net profit of around 82 million euro in the quarter. For this transaction, Intesa Sanpaolo made use of Banca Imi Spa and Ubs Limited as Joint Bookrunners.

At the opening of the session in Piazza Affari, the Intesa Sanpaolo share gained 0,45% a 1,798 euros. On the other hand, Generali fell by 1,4% a €16,71 per share.
