Intesa and Banco Popolare will not bid for the bridge banks

Intesa Sanpaolo and Banco Popolare are not interested in buying any of the four newly saved cooperative banks (Banca Marche, Banca Etruria, Carife and Carichieti). This was assured yesterday by the CEOs of the two institutes, Carlo Messina and Pier Francesco Saviotti.

Bpm, on the other hand, does not exclude an interest: “Honestly, it is such a new thing in its configuration that we have not yet made a reflection – Giuseppe Castagna, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Bpm, told Radiocor -. As you know, we are very interested in a discussion of mergers, we are working with some of our other potential partner banks and then we will see if it will be possible to put other banks on the radar as well".
