Impregilo: profit down, revenue stable

The construction multinational closes its accounts for the first half with an operating result down from 98 to 85 million on an annual basis – The net financial position worsens, in the red by more than 559 million – As for the uncertain Libyan situation, “the evaluations of short term that do not take into account operations” in the country.

Impregilo: profit down, revenue stable

Profits in sharp decline in the first half for Impregilo, which at the halfway point of the year recorded earnings of 39 million euros, against 60,4 collected in the same period of 2010. A drop that can be explained by the particular conditions of the year last year, when the company active in the construction sector had benefited from an extraordinary income of 43 million due to the sale of the Brazilian subsidiary Elog.

"As regards the situation currently highlighted by the conflict in Libya - reads a note from the group - in the persistence of the uncertainties relating to the recovery of the conditions of stability in the country, the forecasts made by the group at the beginning of the current year are confirmed, which do not consider the resumption of operations in Libya for the purposes of their short-term assessments”.

Revenues stable at 1,004 billion. As for the consolidated operating result, the item is positive for 85 million, down on the 98,1 million recorded in the period January-June 2010. The incidence on sales decreased from 9,8 to 8,5%. The net financial position, on the other hand, shows a deficit of 559,3 million dollars, a considerable increase compared to the 313,4 of last December 31st. Impregilo's overall portfolio stands at 22,7 billion. Finally, acquisitions in the first half of the year reached 860 million.
