Yesterday IMA completed, through its subsidiary Corazza SpA, the closing for the sale of the entire stake in Stephan Machinery GmbH, which produces integrated systems in the production process for dairy and convenience food, to funds managed by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), an important German private equity company already present in the sector.
The equity value of the investment is equal to 40,4 million euros, entirely settled at the closing. Following this transaction, the IMA Group's net financial debt will be reduced by 40,4 million euro. For the finalization of the transaction, Ima was assisted by UniCredit as financial advisor and by Poggi&Associati and InterFinanz GmbH.
Founded in 1961, Ima is a world leader in the design and production of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, tea, coffee and food products. The Group has over 3.500 employees, of which over 1.500 overseas, and has 23 production plants in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, India and China. IMA has an extensive commercial network, which consists of 16 branches with sales and service departments in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Russia, the United States, China, Singapore, Thailand and Brazil, representation in Central and Eastern European countries and more than 50 agencies covering in total more than 70 countries.
The company is also engaged in a manufacturing and technical assistance joint venture in China.
