The event dedicated to the best local food and wine of Monferrato is back open to the public. About thirty local producers have been selected to promote the knowledge and diffusion of the symbolic wine of the Alessandria area

The white truffle marries the Dolcetto at the Ovada Fair

Marriage of interest at the Ovada Fair on November 21st between the white truffle and the Dolcetto di Ovada, the Docg produced in a hilly area that includes 23 municipalities in the province of Alessandria. The occasion is the Vi.Ta. – Vino & Tartufi, the fair dedicated to the best of local food and wine, and which features the two highly representative products of Monferrato Ovadese as protagonists.

The event has the subtitle "The hug is life", to underline how the event wants to be both an embrace between two local excellences and a return to contact between people, after months of isolation. Life. – Vino & Tartufi will offer the best wine producers and local raw materials in the streets and squares of Ovada, brought to the fair directly by agricultural producers.

The great protagonist of the festival, of course, will also be the truffle, which will have a dedicated space within the Municipality of Ovada, in via Torino 69. "A great opportunity to relaunch", explains the councilor for Tourism of Ovada Marco Lanza, " Vino e tartufi is an event that marks the restart of the autumn program of the Ovadese Monferrato, it will be a great party where the excellences will be on display. Our truffle, even in a year not characterized by abundance, is characterized by its excellent quality”.

In addition to the truffle market, there will be space for local wine producers - around thirty have been selected - who will bring their bottles for tasting in a route that will wind along via San Paolo, ending in the tasting counter set up in piazza Cereseto. The agricultural products of the area will have a dedicated market in via Torino, thanks to the collaboration with the trade associations CIA, Coldiretti and Confagricoltura with representatives from the Alessandria area and from all over Piedmont, and ample space will also be given to excellent products from Genoa, who will bring the best of their productions thanks to a special partnership between the Municipality of Ovada and that of Genoa.

There will also be a street food area, with local excellence to be enjoyed while strolling through the streets of Ovada. Many activities are scheduled to entertain guests during the day, including music, educational farms, workshops for the little ones and much more. “We are really happy to be able to announce such beautiful events again,” explains Roberto Cava, president of Alexala. "Moments of celebration that we, the citizens and also the tourists have missed, who find in the authenticity of these showcases of the best local food and wine one more reason to visit our territory, having fun and discovering it through its best products ”.  

According to Marco Protopapa Councilor for Agriculture of the Piedmont Region “The Vi.Ta. – Vini & Tartufi, dedicated to the gastronomic excellence of the area, pays homage to Monferrato food and wine, with the Ovada and Dolcetto wines together with the white truffle. Thanks to the synergy between the Enoteca Regionale, the Ovada Docg Consortium and the Pro Loco, the event enhances winegrowers, producers and trifulato and helps to make this corner of Piedmont attractive to tourists who choose the hills as a destination to taste our wines and quality food products".
