The Cultural Heritage of Abruzzo on the YouTube channel

Land of Abruzzo. Back to the past is a poetic presentation of Abruzzo and of the cultural heritage of the region: an evocative music that accompanies the luminosity of the naves of medieval abbeys and frescoed ceilings as well as sweeping views and chiaroscuro on the details of frescoes, statues and interiors.

The video, which in just over three minutes shows the astonishing beauty of the region's heritage, is part of the online collection promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism through its YouTube channel for the campaign "Culture does not stop" with the aim of establishing a national cultural offer usable from home: Land of Abruzzo. Back to the past is the contribution of the Abruzzo Regional Directorate of Museums.

So here are the churches of San Pietro in Albe and that of San Pietro da Oratorium, in the Tirino valley, with the splendid ciborium and depictions of Christ with the evangelists and the twenty-four Elders of the Apocalypse; the Abbey of San Clemente in Casauria and that of San Giovanni in Venere in Fossacesia. And again: the Church of San Bartolomeo in Carpineto della Nora; the Triptych of Alba Fucens, the Madonna and Child with St. John the Evangelist and St. James the Greater, the sacred face and the friezes of the portals at Castello Piccolomini Celano; the very close-ups of the two-faced herm and the theatrical masks of the La Civitella National Archaeological Museum, as well as of the Warrior of Capestrano and the head of Zeus kept in the Villa Frigerj Museum, together with those of the Madonna di Collemaggio of the National Museum of Abruzzo, up to to the decorated ceilings of Gabriele d'Annunzio's birthplace museum in Pescara.

The video represents a suggestion: the testimonies of the past which are the heritage of Abruzzo's identity and culture. An invitation to admire and enjoy Italian beauty, when places of culture and monuments will once again be accessible to the public.
