It was inaugurated today in Mexico at the CIIMMATH, in the industrial complex of Ciudad Sahagùn, in the State of Hidalgo, the workshop organized by ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, with the collaboration of the trade association UCIMU - SISTEMI PER PRODURRE.
The CIIMMATH - Centro de Innovación Italiano-Mexicano en Manufactura de Alta Tecnología Hidalgo was born in 2006, thanks to the agreements between the ICE Agency and local institutions and with the collaboration of UCIMU, as a platform in which industrial infrastructures can be combined with technological development activities and transfer of scientific, technological and innovation skills. The project envisaged the creation, at the CIIMMATH, of an environment equipped with Italian-made machine tools for metalworking. More recent is the setting up of an automatic production cell for aluminum die casting, created in collaboration with the AMAFOND trade association, equipped with Italian machinery for the foundry. This technological center therefore represents a real one "technological showcase" of Italian production in the sector and, at the same time, a technical training tool for local companies with the aim of strengthening the Mexican mechanical industry.
The implementation of the initiative (5-7 February 2013) will be focused on systems, equipment and machine tools for metalworking, with particular reference to automation, aerospace, energy and household appliances, one of the most dynamic sectors capable of attracting foreign investment in the Mexican production system. The Mexican economy can, in fact, count on the presence of a cluster made up of about 140 companies in the state of New Leon, near Monterrey. The Italian export of machine tools to Mexico in 2011 it grew by 33%, for a value of 52,5 million euros. The positive trend continued in the first 6 months of 2012 with an increase of 189,5%.
