This is the latest statement by the Russian president. It comes after, in the morning, the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had asked his Russian counterpart to declare a "unilateral" ceasefire in Ukraine. "President Erdogan has said that calls for peace and negotiations should be supported by a unilateral ceasefire and a vision for a just solution," the Turkish presidency reported, reporting the contents of a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

Meanwhile, the US president Joe Biden, said the United States is considering sending Bradley combat vehicles to support Ukraine, while Estonia's foreign and justice ministries are working to develop a legal basis for using frozen Russian funds in Estonia as a result of the sanctions introduced by the European Union.
