Greece is on track for debt reduction and debt sustainability and is expected to return to growth next year. This is what we read in a note from the international creditor representatives - the EU Commission, the IMF and the ECB, known as the 'troika' - at the end of an inspection, in which they are also assured that the next tranche of aid will soon be paid.
"The fiscal performance is in line with the programmed targets and the government is fully committed to implementing the measures agreed for the two-year period 2013-2014 which are not yet operational", reads the note. "The payment of the related 2,8 billion euros of the EFSF tranche remaining from the previous inspection could be decided soon by the states of the euro area", continues the note. Eurozone finance ministers and the Monetary Fund are expected to ratify the troika conclusions in May.
