Google launches Youtube Music Key: paid news

"Paid". The two most difficult words to get accepted on the internet are spoken for the first time by Her Majesty Youtube (property of Google) with the launch of the long-awaited “music-key“, a service that provides streaming music and music videos, without advertising and – precisely – for a fee. It will cost 9,99 euros per month and will allow access from smartphones and PCs to the entire Youtube video list.

The number one goal is to outrun the competition Spotify, to date the most used music streaming service in the world, with 50 million listeners, 12,5 million paying users and two billion dollars paid into the pockets of artists.

Before launching the decisive attack, however, it will still take some time. Youtube Music Key is in beta phase and is about to be open for free and for six months only to a small slice of users. At a later date the service will cost 7,99 euros per month and only in six months – with the release of the final version open to all – it will reach 9,99 euros.

A new homepage dedicated to music is already available in the YouTube app for Android and on YouTube.com, where playlists automatically appear with recommended music based on your choices and those containing trending music on YouTube. It will also be possible to create and share playlists, consult trending music videos and new playlists.
