The Spaniards of Abertis conquer Brescia-Padua

Abertis' offer is around 450 million euros – The agreement is subject to due diligence and will lead to Abertis taking control of A4 Holding, the company that controls the A4 Serenissima motorways (Brescia-Padua) before the end of the year ) and A31 (Vicenza-Piovene-Rocchete).

The Spanish company Abertis announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement for the possible acquisition of A4 Holding, company that controls the highways A4 Serenissima (Brescia-Padua) and A31 (Vicenza-Piovene-Rocchete).

The agreement was signed between the Catalan group and the Re Consult Infrastrutture consortium, which owns 44,5% of the A4 and is made up of Intesa SanPaolo, Astaldi and the Tabacchi family. Furthermore, a further 6,5% relating to Equiter, an Intesa San Paolo company, should be considered.

It appears that Abertis has made an offer of 450 million for 50,5% of the holding and beat the purchase proposals put forward by Atlantia, F2i, Carlo Toto and Macquarie.

The Spanish infrastructure group explained that the agreement is subject to "due diligence which, if concluded successfully, will lead Abertis to take control of the holding before the end of the year".
