“Giappugliese”, or rather sushi and burrata

Revisiting oriental cuisine in an Apulian key: this is what the Giappugliese di Milano proposes, mentioned in the weekend edition of First&Food which also analyzes the best wines, chocolate and excellent ice cream

“Giappugliese”, or rather sushi and burrata

Rich and also original menu what is proposed this week on First&Food, the FIRSTonline site dedicated to the food and wine universe. In Milan there is a place that has "dared" to blend Japanese cuisine with that of Puglia: at the "Giappugliese" in viale Papiniano you can eat both traditional sushi, orecchiette with turnip tops, and mixed dishes, perhaps revisiting oriental cuisine in an Apulian key. We don't anticipate anything: the result, which according to TripAdvisor reviews is an absolute success, must be experienced in person.

On the other hand, it is more difficult to try heroic viticulture in person: yes, in Italy it exists and is also protected by law. Indeed, there is always something heroic about cultivating vineyards at altitude on inaccessible terrain, but there are very specific parameters: heroic viticulture is the one that takes place on land with a slope greater than 30%, located over 500 meters above sea level. On First&Food the manifesto (and video) and the initiatives to promote it.

Speaking of wines, this weekend is the turn of the story of the Monchiero family, which has been producing Barolo for generations in the vineyards of Castiglione Falletto and La Morra (in the province of Cuneo). Other goodies: the perfect espresso, it seems, is established by an algorithm from the University of Oregon. But can we Italians ever trust the parameters of the Americans? Meanwhile, Gambero Rosso has established that the best chocolate ice cream in Italy is eaten in Milan: on First&Food you will find out where.
