Germany, industrial production slows down in August (-1%)

Small step backwards for Germany on the industrial front. In August, production fell by 1% compared to the previous month. Although the drop was lower than expected by analysts, the figure confirms the weakening trend already highlighted by orders.

In any case, according to the German Economy Ministry, Wolfgang Schäuble, “industry production remains on an upward trend, even if it has slowed down”. In fact, in July, German industrial production had risen by 3,9% (figure revised from the initial figure of +4%). On an annual basis, however, in August the figure rose by 7,7%.
