Germany, GDP slows down in the third quarter: +0,2%

The Federal Statistical Office confirmed today that German gross domestic product slowed to +0,2% in the third quarter, after growing by 0,3% in the second - And Parliament does not ratify the treaty signed by the government with the Switzerland on the regularization of undeclared bank accounts.

The crisis is also making itself felt in Germany, which however continues to grow. The Federal Statistical Office confirmed today that German gross domestic product slowed to +0,2% in the third quarter, after growing by 0,3% in the second. On an annual basis, the increase was 0,9%.

Le exports and private consumption they still supported German growth in the third quarter of this year, albeit at a slower pace. In fact, companies are postponing investments due to the uncertainty of the crisis.

The seasonally adjusted figure shows that the gross investment they did not contribute in any way to the growth in the third quarter. Exports, on the other hand, increased by 1,4%, while government spending grew by 0,4% and private consumption by 0,3%. 

The estimates released today by the national statistics office are in line with expectations and unchanged from the preliminary projections of a month ago. In the period, private consumption expenditure grew by 0,3%.

Meanwhile, the German Parliament has rejected the treaty signed by the Government with Switzerland on the regularization of undeclared bank accounts held by German citizens in the Confederation. The Bundesrat, the upper house of the lander, has not ratified the agreement, which received only a minority share of votes in favour, 21 out of 69 MPs, according to reports from the NZZ.
