Germany: confidence collapses, Zew index slips to 25,4 points

The index that measures the confidence of German investors went from 44,3 to 25,4 points in September, largely disappointing analysts' expectations – Confidence on the current conditions of the German economy is growing, a sharp decline for expectations on the Eurozone.

German investor confidence falls. The related Zew index, in fact, in the month of September marked a vertical decline, going from 44,3 points to 25,4 points, a figure far worse than the expectations of analysts, who expected an increase in the index to 40 points .

The Zew index referring to confidence in the current conditions of the German country's economy instead recorded an increase to 6,9 points from 8,6 points (consensus 4,8 points). The confidence index relating to expectations on the Euroland economy fell to 14,2 points from 23,7 points.
