Generali Italia wins the Absolute Areté Prize 2016

The Generali Italia Welfare Index PMI project wins the “Areté 2016 Absolute Prize” for responsible communication – The index also wins the Areté prize for “Corporate Communication”.

Welfare Index PMI, the first index that measures the level of corporate welfare in Italian SMEs promoted by Generali Italia, with the participation of Confagricoltura, Confindustria, Confartigianato, Confprofessioni and the third sector, Tuesday at the CSR and Social Innovation Exhibition in Milan , was awarded the "Arete Absolute Prize 2016", for having promoted "a choral action that responds to a real need of the country system".

The index, which aims to disseminate and enhance the culture of welfare in small and medium enterprises and to reward best practices, also obtained the first prize in the "Corporate Communication" category.

"We are delighted to have received this award for the Welfare Index PMI" - declared Lucia Sciacca, director of Communication and Sustainability of Generali Country Italia, "An initiative that we will continue in the coming years too, thanks to the contribution and participation of the associations of category and the Third Sector, because we are convinced that, by adopting good welfare practices, small and medium-sized enterprises have greater possibilities for growth and development".

Not just an index, but a real self-assessment tool that allows companies to verify their level of welfare and to compare themselves with the best practices of the sector. On the www.welfareindexpmi.it site, every company that participates in the annual survey will be able to have its free evaluation in the reserved area.

Welfare Index PMI, which was launched last March and will reach its second edition in 2017, provides:

– the realization of an annual qualitative-quantitative survey of corporate welfare practices in SMEs of all productive sectors. 2.140 companies took part in the first edition;
– the elaboration of a ranking based on: scope and content of the initiatives; corporate welfare management methods and employee involvement; originality and distinctiveness of welfare activities in the Italian panorama;
– a free assessment reserved for all participating companies;
– an annual public event for the presentation of the General Report and for the awarding and promotion of the best examples of corporate welfare, with the aim of encouraging their adoption by other SMEs.

Arete´, now in its thirteenth edition this year, is the award promoted by Nuvolaverde Onlus with Confindustria, Abi and Gruppo 24 Ore with the aim of signaling to the business community and public opinion those subjects who have distinguished themselves for their ability to convey responsible messages, clear, concrete and valuable information.
