Generali Italia and FCA, agreement for the connected car

The partnership, which will be of both a technological and commercial nature, aims to offer new insurance services linked to connected vehicles, starting from the FCA models.

Generali Italia and FCA together for the development of connected mobility. The two groups signed a letter of intent to start one technological but also commercial partnership: the common goal is the development and offer of innovative products and services on the insurance market in the field of connected vehicles. 

The partnership, thanks to the most advanced technological systems (including the IoT and AI solutions already developed by Generali Italia in the 300 million euro innovation plan, through the new Jeniot company), stands as the end of guarantee the customer a personalized experience, integrating insurance solutions and innovative services: such as the "Real Time Coaching", a "black box" that signals the different driving behaviors in real time with the aim of preventing dangerous situations, or the monitoring of driving dynamics through specific algorithms, with the possibility for the customer to share information on his driving style .    

The collaboration aims to develop new solutions in various fields and includes: 

  • The offer of Genertel insurance policies based on the actual use of the vehicle on connected FCA range models, purchased through FCA Bank; 
  • The offer of other insurance coverage linked to car usage habits and innovative digital mobility services dedicated to FCA customers;   
  • The possibility for Generali Italia agencies to propose long-term rental offers for FCA vehicles through Leasys, FCA Bank's mobility and long-term rental company; 
  • The offer for subscribing maintenance services and FCA warranty extension to Generali customers; 
  • Synergies between the networks of authorized body shops of Generali Country Italia and FCA to offer joint customers the possibility of using FCA authorized workshops to carry out repairs on their vehicles and to encourage the use of original FCA spare parts in the network of authorized body shops of Generali.
