Generali, Greco in London: “Confirmation of targets and distribution of dividends”. The Stock Exchange approves

“We confirm the targets already set and introduce new targets in order to present our shareholders with a clear action plan to achieve higher returns in the short term”. So the group CEO of Generali, Mario Greco, on the occasion of the company's Investor Day held today in London. “Ten months after the start of our three-year turnaround plan, the discipline, simplicity and focus with which we are revolutionizing our business are starting to take effect,” comments Greco, quoted in a note, in which he also highlights the excellent progress accomplished in the replenishment of the capital, "with more than 60% of the target of 4 billion disposals completed and with a greater focus on the core insurance business"

“After putting the capital in order – Greco also added -, we must begin to adequately remunerate shareholders. For this reason, today we will be talking about a policy of increasing dividends over time once the capital targets have been reached and which will bring us in line with the standards of the insurance market". “We don't have any extraordinary personnel restructuring plans in any country and we certainly won't do it”, the Generali CEO also clarified. “We will contain staff levels in some countries by working on turnover and early retirements”.

At the moment, shortly after the opening of the Stock Exchange, the markets are reacting positively to Greco's words: the Generali stock just before 10 am it gains 1,21% in Piazza Affari to 16,79 euros.
