"If we had the Tap today we wouldn't have to declare, as we will do today, a state of gas emergency due to the accident in Austria". This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, after the events this morning in Austria to a section of the network managed by the operator Gas Connect.
"This means that we have a serious problem of dependence on Russia, as regards gas supplies - added Calenda - And in Puglia there are those who wage war on the Tap, even invoking sabotage, with the governor Emiliano who, there too, he appealed to the TAR and lost it”.
Meanwhile, Snam has announced that, following the accident, the flow of gas imports from Russia has been temporarily interrupted. But based on the information currently available, supplies could resume as early as today, if the first indications on the absence of damage to transport infrastructures are confirmed.
Meanwhile, the security of the Italian system is guaranteed by the storage facilities made available by Snam. As expected in these situations, the Ministry of Economic Development declared a state of emergency.
