FtseMib and Dow Jones: who gets to 20 thousand first?

Great Stock Exchange derby between Piazza Affari and Wall Street: the FtseMib, the index of the 40 main stocks of the Italian Stock Exchange, is one step away from the psychological threshold of 20 basis points (it is now at 19.626) after a spectacular recovery of the last month and a half but the Dow Jones, the main Wall Street index, is at 19.927 but the games will be decided at the photo finish

Head to head between the FtseMib and the Dow Jones in the race towards 20 thousand, a psychological threshold that signals the current bullish phase of the main Milan Stock Exchange index as well as that of the largest Wall Street stock index. Who will win at the photo finish and who will reach 20 basis points first?

Piazza Affari, after a disappointing 2016 which saw it among the worst world stock exchanges, has been recovering for a month and a half and the FtseMib, which collects the 40 main stocks, is now one step away from the fateful 20 bp and stands at 19.626 after an encouraging start to the year.

The Dow, which has been on its honeymoon with the new president Donald Trump for weeks, is however one step away from the finish line and at the beginning of the January 5 session it stands at 19.927 bp. The sprint continues and the derby as well. The games remain open until the end.
