Golinelli Foundation, streaming quiz from the book "Plants on the go".

Golinelli Foundation proposes a game a Streaming quiz on Monday 11 May at 16.00 pm on the world of plants and for boys and girls aged 12 and adults, conducted by the journalist Andrea Vico, with the participation of the philosopher and biology historian Telmo Pievani.

Through ideas and curiosities contained in the book Traveling Plants, published by Editoriale Scienza, participants will be able to immerse themselves in an imaginary journey to discover the plants that we use on the table every day and that take us back to the history of agriculture, the landscape that surrounds us and the plants themselves. Questions, curiosities, historical anecdotes and cultural challenges: plants not only give us food, spices, medicines and raw materials, but they can also give us the right ideas to understand the present and face the future.

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Editoriale Scienza on the occasion of the International Year of Plant Health proclaimed by the United Nations for the year 2020.

To participate in the online event it is necessary to register (max. 90 participants). Furthermore, you need a PC or tablet connected to the network and connected to the Zoom platform and a smartphone on which to download the Kahoot APP in advance. Telmo Pievanthe. Philosopher and historian of biology, as well as an expert in the theory of evolution, Telmo Pievani is professor of philosophy of biological sciences at the University of Padua. He is director of Pikaia, the Italian evolution portal, and author of numerous scientific and popular publications. Together with Niles Eldredge and Ian Tattersall he curated the Italian edition of the international Darwin exhibition. 1809-2009, and together with Luigi Luca Cavalli Sforza the international exhibition project Homo sapiens: the great history of human diversity.

Andrew Vico. Turinese, journalist, 4 children and a bicycle, he has been involved full-time in scientific dissemination for 30 years. He has written for Tuttoscienze-La Stampa, Le Scienze, Il Sole 24 Ore and other publications. For RaiTre he is co-author of Hit Science, a children's television program dedicated to science. He has received several awards for his dissemination articles and has written about fifteen popular science books, mainly for children and teenagers with Editoriale Scienza, Giralangolo and Fabbri. He designs and creates interactive exhibitions, educational events and play science workshops for festivals, libraries and schools. Professor of Science Communication at the University of Turin, he collaborates with the storytelling agency Book on a Tree. He founded the ToScienceCamp association which organizes scientific holidays for children, teenagers and adults. Since June 2018 he has been coordinator for teaching and scientific communication of the Gesso and Stura River Park in Cuneo. In 2019, with Officine Creative Torino, he launched the Plastic all around project (Preciuos Plastic Community) and is a member of the scientific committee of Ocean Literacy Italia.
