Carige Foundation: Pertica first choice for presidency, but the board remains split

Remo Pertica is the most accredited candidate for the presidency of the Carige Foundation. The name of the former Finmeccanica manager remains the first choice of the 17 policy advisors who revoked Flavio Repetto at the end of an intense day of contacts and meetings at various levels, but he is unable to garner the support of the minority group which he disputes that he has been left on the sidelines of the discussions up to now.

“The names circulating now are undoubtedly of a good standard – explains a councilor – but the method of not involving the other 11 councilors continues to be inadequate. If a proposal from the institutions arrives on which to converge, it will be easier to mend the rift”. The names that the Ligurian institutions, with the mayor of Genoa Marco Doria in the front row, seem to prefer for a high-profile solution are those of the former Minister of Justice Giovanni Maria Flick and the jurist Guido Alpa, current president of the Carige insurance companies but , according to what has been learned, the mayor himself did not hide his appreciation for the professional figure of Pertica in the talks with some advisors: a judgment that seems to be an opening to the choice of the former co-director of Finmeccanica. Yesterday too, during the conversation between the regent of the Pierluigi Vinai Foundation and the managers of the Ministry of the Treasury, the name of Pertica would have garnered wide acclaim from Via XX Settembre. Meanwhile, a director of the Carige Foundation, Riccardo Guatelli, has resigned, thus leaving room for the entry of a new director who, in all likelihood, will be replaced by the presidential candidate.
