Tax authorities, VAT credits: 2 billion on the way for 11 companies

A sigh of relief for 11 thousand VAT numbers. A robust one is coming liquidity injection for businesses, artisans and professionals, thanks to the payment of approximately 2,2 billion euros made available by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to settle the VAT credit account.

In particular, 400 million euros will already be disbursed in the next few days, while 1,8 billion they will be paid starting from the second half of May.

With this new liquidity injection, the total sum repaid in 2012 to businesses, artisans and professionals will reach a good 3,1 billion euros, compared to the 2,7 billion disbursed in the same period of 2011, with an increase of about 14%.

In the meantime, the assault on the stagecoach continues-IMU from the front of the majority: the secretary of the Pd, Pierluigi Bersani, insists on the democratic proposal to lighten the tax burden on first homes, offsetting the lower revenue with adistinct property tax: "Our proposal is to lighten the IMU and add a personal tax on large movable assets".

According to Bersani, however, it will be fundamental “leave the Imu to the Municipalities, if anything by decreasing the transfers of the State so as to constitute a basis of autonomy imposing. I believe that this tax should be corrected in this way”.

In the PDL, on the other hand, the ex-keeper of the seals Angelino Alfano denies that the proposal of offset credits and debts is a purely propaganda tactic: “it means maximum collaboration with the government: in this way Parliament creates the framework and the executive intervenes. It is a methodological choice of collaboration with the government, it is not a hostile act towards the government".

It is clear, Alfano added, that it would be better for the entrepreneur to collect the receivables from the State within sixty days, as Europe requests, rather than offset them: but since this does not happen, "our proposal is a subordinate one" which allows to meet the needs of citizens.

The crux "is to recognize that the issue exists", as happened in recent days thanks to the proposals of the PDL, underlined the secretary, "in this way some results will be obtained".
