Finmeccanica: Bombardier and Hitachi still in contention for Ansaldo Breda and Sts

As reported by qualified sources to Radiocor, Bombardier and Hitachi are the two groups remaining in the running to present an offer to Finmeccanica for the Transportation business (AnsaldoBreda and Ansaldo Sts which the group controls with 40%). The name of the Canadian Bombardier, already a partner of Breda in the order for the new Frecciarossa 1000 high-speed train for the FS and interested in growing in the signaling sector, has been around for some time now.

On the other hand, the Japanese Hitachi were more secluded in recent times, which in any case were among the first to show interest in this game that has been being played for years now over the possible disposal of Finmeccanica's transport sector. Therefore, the interest of the Chinese of Insigma and China CNR Corp, shown for Breda and Sts no later than a few months ago, seems to have waned, as does that of the French Thales which in any case aimed only at Ansaldo Sts.

Today the CEO and general manager of Finmeccanica, Mauro Moretti, during his first meeting with the financial community, said that there are two groups interested at the moment in the data room opened by the group on the accounts of the two companies. Groups that have asked for an extension until the end of August to be able to bid. A decision on any offers, Moretti assured, will be made within the month of October.
