Financial education for women: new project from Bank of Italy

La Bank of Italy has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Council of Notaries to promote “the development offinancial education of women lacking adequate levels of financial literacy and/or in a condition of economic fragility". This is what we read in a note from Via Nazionale.

The agreement aims to "encourage opportunities for discussion and in-depth analysis on the subject of financial and legal-economic education for women", promoting "training events, conferences, training courses and forms of collaboration with women's associations and with organizations that assist victims of economic violence". They will also be madeinformation documents to allow women to orient themselves in daily economic and financial decisions and to actively participate in the management of family assets".

Bank of Italy underlines that “the survey carried out in the field OECD in 2020 it confirmed how women, compared to men, are less literate in economic and financial matters and have less confidence in their own abilities. A picture of particular vulnerability of women emerged, for this reason recipients of specific training courses".

Thanks to the agreement with the National Council of Notaries, “which will operate through its own Commission for Equal Opportunities – explains Bankitalia – the action already carried out by the Bank of Italy on the territory is strengthened. The presence of notaries, even in small municipalities, will allow for a more widespread dissemination of the economic-financial culture, integrating the Institute's offer”.

The collaboration will begin in October, on the occasion of the fourth Financial Education Month, an annual awareness-raising, information and training event promoted by the National Committee for Financial Education.
