NBA FINALS – LeBron James writes 35, Miami goes 1 to 1

For those wondering what condition Lebron James would have been in after the muscle injury in game 1, the answer is served: the King is fine (very well), long live the King. 35 points (with 11 out of 19 from the field), ten rebounds and patient dominance exercised throughout game 2, just enough to tip the balance of a very balanced match towards Miami. Series impacted on 1 to 1 and now we fly to Miami for the next two races, before returning to Texas.

And to think that the Spurs were the best to start. Driven by the usual luxurious first quarter of Tim Duncan, author of a vintage double double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, the black and silver finish the first 12 minutes with a lead of 26 to 19 and extend to 30 to 20 at the beginning of the second quarter. But this is where the game turns: Lebron, after a first quarter of offensive droughts, shakes up and starts grinding baskets, bringing Miami back in his wake. The second quarter ends in a draw, on 43 to 43.

Just as the third quarter will end in a tie, just to say the balance that reigns supreme in a series between these two teams. Lebron continues to bite the defense of the Spurs who, on the other hand, find an unexpected contribution from Patty Mills, for the 75 all that paves the way for the final sprint.

Between the 2 to 0, which would have directed the series towards Texas, and the 1 to 1 which allows Miami to overturn the home court factor and stretch its fingers on the NBA title (the third in a row), the difference was minimal : two points, a breath, the mirror of the differences between these two teams, a narrow ridge in which the details decide everything.

A few too many mistakes on the shot and from the line for San Antonio and a monumental James, helped by the squire of the day Chris Bosh, 18 points and, above all, the triple of 93 to 95 in the last minute, who dug the definitive groove, that from which the Spurs have not been able to get up. 96 to 98 the final, now the series flies to Miami. Now the Spurs, if they don't want to say goodbye to their title hopes, will have to conquer the American Airlines Arena at least once.
