Chrysler will invest $1,7 billion starting in 2013 for the production and development of Jeep-branded SUVs based on a Fiat platform. In particular, the group controlled by Lingotto will pay out 500 million for the assembly plant at the Toledo Assembly Complex, in Ohio, where another 1.100 jobs will be created.

This was announced by the managing director of Fiat-Chrysler, Sergio Marchionne. With the figure announced today, the Detroit company has pledged to invest more than 4,5 billion dollars in the country.
