The center of Avezzano will be the opening theater Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November of Marsiland, the widespread Agri-food Festival which will be divided into a six-month long calendar of events starting from your homeland with two days, dedicated to taste and knowledge of all typical agri-food products of this rich territory. From the famous Avezzano potato to famous vegetables, from sausages to craft beers, from saffron to jams and marmalades, from legumes to ancient seeds, without obviously forgetting wines and extra virgin olive oil.

“At MarsicaLand the places, people and typical agri-food products of the territory are the protagonists – states Ernesto Di Renzo, professor of Anthropology of Taste and Anthropology of Cultural Heritage at the University of Tor Vergata, as well as Scientific Coordinator of MarsicaLand – and for this very reason Avezzano could only be the starting point of the Festival. From the heart of Marsica, a journey of food, culture and knowledge begins to bring both tourists and residents closer to all the beauties that this portion of internal Abruzzo is able to offer. A itinerant project born from the desire to compensate the territory, which has always been suited to agriculture, pastoralism and forestry, starting from the value of the local for a future increasingly oriented towards tourism oriented towards quality and memorable experiences".
The weekend will begin with the presentation ceremony of the Festival, scheduled for 11am. An opportunity for dialogue to strengthen the bond between all the actors of the territory which is the basis of the Festival, which will be followed by a tasting of local products in the magnificent spaces of Castello Orsini, one of the most evocative places in the entire area. The journalist Domenico Ranieri (Il Centro) will moderate the event. The debate will be animated by Luigi D'Eramo, undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Emanuele Imprudente, vice-president of the Abruzzo region with responsibility for agriculture, Gianni Di Pangrazio, mayor of Avezzano, Antonio Morgante, director of Arap Abruzzo, Giuliano Montaldi, technical director of the festival, and Di Renzo.
On Saturday afternoon, at 16.30 pm, "FucinoLand: man, (his) land, (his) fruits" will be inaugurated, the multimedia iconographic exhibition to retrace the centuries-old agricultural vocation of this land, through the display of images , objects and other artistic and audiovisual installations. An immersive journey, inside the Montessori cultural centre, aimed at making people reflect on the evolution of relationships between man, the environment and agricultural practices, in order to disseminate the strong and deep-rooted agri-food tradition of the area, combining artistic expressions with AI technologies.
Great anticipation for the inauguration of Fucino farmer's market, a unique initiative of its kind in terms of size and its green character, not only for the sustainability of the short supply chain but also for the extraordinary quality of the fruit and vegetables, which identify Fucino as the vegetable garden of Italy. Over the two days, over 50 stands will populate the internal spaces of Piazza Risorgimento from 9 am until late afternoon, to give those coming from outside the region and the inhabitants themselves the opportunity to discover and taste the typical foods of Fucino, such as potatoes and carrots PGI, apples from the Roveto Valley, fennel, legumes and many other products that make the agricultural production of this area famous internationally.

Flexible dialogue on the future of the territory" a moment of discussion oriented towards the valorisation of local resources, including food and wine, as a tool for strengthening the economic-social fabric of the territory, always counting on synergistic work between institutions, local entrepreneurs and the involvement of new generations.
