In a joint letter to their employees, FCA and PSA warn that the technical talks are proceeding well and that the merger agreement is already expected "in the coming weeks" - Conte calls for attention to the occupation of the Italian plants

The signing of the Memorandum of understanding between FCA and PSA will arrive "within the next few weeks": this is what emerges from a joint letter sent by the top management of the two automotive groups to their employees.

The American ostracism, and in particular of General Motors towards FCA, instead of slowing down has accelerated the technical confrontation between the two groups that will give life to the fourth global auto giant.

The nine joint FCA and PSA working groups, as la Repubblica writes today, have already made a large part of the path that must lead to the merger agreement but there is still work to be done, even if the climate - despite the obvious prudence by FCA president John Elkann – is decidedly positive. However - as specified in the letter to the employees - "Fca and PSA will remain competitors until the merger process is completed".

In his visit to FCA in Melfi, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte yesterday in turn took the opportunity to recommend to top management that the merger with PSA "does not jeopardize employment in Italy", as the labor unions.
