Wins the grand prix Nico Rosberg mocking his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari has to settle for third place, followed by Kimi Raikkonen.

(ANSA) – One-two for Mercedes in the Italian Grand Prix on the Monza circuit with the victory of Nico Rosberg ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. Podium for Ferrari thanks to Sebastian Vettel's third place. Fourth was the other Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen.

"You are the best fans in the world": Sebastian Vettel from the podium of the Monza grand prix wanted to thank the thousands of Maranello fans who cheered him on. Interviewed in English by the speaker of the race, Vettel replied in Italian: 'Thank you – he added – you are the best in the world. We are Ferrari”.

“Am I satisfied? If the answer is dry, I say no, but if I think about where we started from, I say yes”. This is the comment from Sergio Marchionne, Ferrari president, after his third place at Monza. “The team was ready to win here, but Mercedes ran an almost flawless race – he added to Sky – We gave our best. The team is there, we have everything, the only gap now is aerodynamics. But if I think about how I was at the beginning of the season, I feel better now. Now we have to finish the season well."

On Saturday, Hamilton wrote another historic page in his career, with a perfect lap, making the most of the Parabolica.

Before the roar of the engines began, silence fell on the Monza racetrack. A minute of silence dedicated to the populations affected by the earthquake in Central Italy by fans, mechanics and managers in the pits and by the drivers, lined up on the track behind the patron of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, the undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Luca Lotti , the president of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni, that of ACI, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, and that of Ferrari, Sergio Marchionne. The minute's silence ended with the flight of the Frecce Tricolori, at the end of which the audience applauded.
