Expo Dubai: Terna partner of the Italy Pavilion

Terna will be partner of the Italy Pavilion at Expo Dubai, the Universal Exposition which should have been held last year and which, due to Covid-19, has been postponed to this year. The event will start on October 1st.

Stefano Donnarumma, CEO of the company that manages the national electricity grid, has signed an agreement with Paolo Glisenti, general commissioner for our country's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. The agreement provides that Terna becomes Gold sponsor of the Italian Pavilion.

"The presence at Expo Dubai confirms Terna's central role as director and enabler of the Italian energy system and European hub for achieving the objectives of the energy transition", comments the company in a note.

In the Italian Pavilion, the group will show technologies, innovations and skills which will be used to achieve national and European decarbonisation targets.

As part of the Universal Exposition, entitled "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", which is being held for the first time in an Arab country, the Italy Pavilion has chosen as the theme "Beauty connects People”, “Beauty unites people”, which identifies in beauty a synthesis of skills, creativity, innovation and sustainability: “pillars of Terna's business outlined in the 2021-2025 Business Plan which, with almost 9 billion euro of investments, represents the highest economic commitment ever foreseen by the Group for the Italian electricity grid", continues Terna, announcing that the Italy Pavilion will also host A work of art commissioned by the company which will merge all the elements into an innovative and highly spectacular installation.

“The partnership with Terna will allow us to offer the large audience of Expo Dubai an innovative model of sustainability and efficiency of electricity grids as a driving factor in the ecological transition. In the comparison of ideas and projects for the 'green' future that we will live for the 6 months of the next Universal Exposition, Italy will thus be able to demonstrate technological excellence essential for the processes of progressive decarbonisation of energy systems", declared the Commissioner Paolo Glisenti.

“We are proud to be partners of the Italian Pavilion, which will show the whole world the excellence that our country can boast, not only in terms of culture, art and tourism, but also in terms of technology, engineering skills and innovation capacity: all characteristics which, combined with sustainability, are the heart of Terna”, he declared Stefano Donnarumma, CEO of Terna.
