After 5 consecutive months of declines, the index, elaborated by Bank of Italy, which supplies data on the economic situation in real time, returns stable in November.

Euro-coin returns stable in November

The euro-coin index remained stable in November remaining anchored at -0,20%. This was announced by Bankitalia in a joint press release with the Center of Economic Policy Research (CEPR). It is the first month since June of this year in which the change in the index is not negative. The data was determined by the improvement of some qualitative surveys in industry and services which counterbalanced the worsening of demand.

The Euro-coin is an index that provides a timely monthly estimate of the change in GDP. It offers an image of the economic situation for a short-term analysis by separating the systemic aspects of the Gross Domestic Product from the episodic and erratic ones (seasonality, short-term volatility).
