Esabac, the Italian-French state exam

Great success for the new formula, which allows Italian and French students to obtain, starting from a single exam, two diplomas: the Italian State Exam and the French Baccalauréat.

Esabac, the Italian-French state exam

The Esabac: a certification that allows Italian and French students to obtain, starting from a single exam, two diplomas: the state exam Italian and the baccalaureate French.

A new impetus this year for French-Italian scholastic excellence: since the beginning of the school year in September 2015, there are 383 high schools preparing for EsaBac in Italy – they were 185 in 2012.

In June 2014, 4000 Italian candidates presented themselves for the specific tests of the ESABAC pathway. The success rate of more than 85% in the French exam expresses the demanding and excellent nature of this bilingual course. With the significant increase, in 2015, of the number of high schools adhering to ESABAC, in three years, around 8000 Italian pupils will be holders of the  baccalaureate French.

Mobility of high school students, students and workers supported by ESABAC

The EsaBac is based on an intergovernmental agreement signed on February 24, 2009. It is available to pupils who have followed a 4-hour course in French language and literature during the last three years of high school, as well as two hours a week of history in French (CLIL), i.e. 6 hours a week. For their part, French pupils follow the path literature and history in Italian to obtain the state exam.

ESABAC alumni can then continue their studies by choosing one of the 250 Italian-French bachelor's degrees co-developed by the universities of the two countries. France is Italy's second economic partner and more than 1000 French companies in Italy employ 239 workers. The French language, a language of international communication, is spoken by 000 million people on 274 continents. ESABAC therefore allows students to have an additional opportunity to quickly enter the world of work.
