Eni and Eneco today signed an agreement which provides for the sale to Eneco of 100% of Eni Gas & Power NV / SA - and its subsidiary Eni Wind Belgium NV / SA - a company that includes the gas & power retail activities in Belgium.
Eni Gas & Power NV / SA currently serves around 850.000 electricity and gas connection points supplying households and small and medium-sized enterprises, with a market share of around 10% and a staff of around 200.
The company was founded in 2012 after the merger between Distrigas and Nuon Belgium, and since then it has developed specific expertise in the gas and electricity sector and has expanded its customer base by more than 30% by offering a wide range of services.
The agreement was reached following a competitive tender, the results of which fully confirm the company's value and growth potential. The transaction is in line with the overall disposal plan recently announced by Eni as part of the 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
