Eni announces the start of oil and gas production of camp Lucius in the waters of Gulf of Mexico off the United States. Camp Lucius is located in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, 240 miles south of the Louisiana coast.

In particular, the production of Lucius, which according to the note from the Italian company is around 2.100 meters of water depth, develops through 6 submarine wells connected to a floating oil and gas treatment platform. The platform, connected to the Louisiana coast through dedicated oil and gas pipelines, has a treatment capacity of approx 80 barrels of crude oil per day (bopd) need 13 million cubic meters of gas per day.

The Lucius field was discovered in November 2009 and the subsequent development project was authorized in late 2011. Eni owns an 8,5% stake in the field, operated by Anadarko, and also holds a 30% stake in the nearby Hadrian South gas field, an ExxonMobil-operated subsea development connected to the Lucius floating platform, which is expected to produce 8 million cubic meters of gas per day at full capacity, with start-up expected in early 2015.
