Agreement between Eni and Pertamina for the sale of Liquefied natural gas. In fact, the Italian energy giant, together with its partners ENGIE and Saka Energi Muara Bakau, today signed two agreements with PT Pertamina (Persero) for the sale and purchase of the LNG that will be produced by the Jangkrik gas field. As part of the agreements, Pertamina commits to purchase 1,4 million tonnes of LNG per year starting in 2017.

“The signing of these agreements represents an important element for the development activities of the Jangkrik Project, one of the first deepwater gas projects in Indonesia developed with an accelerated execution scheme (fast track scheme), and confirms Eni's commitment to the supply of gas for the development of the Indonesian domestic market. I am very satisfied with the strong and fruitful relationship with the Indonesian authorities, with Pertamina and with our partners in the Jangkrik Project", said Eni's Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi.

The Jangkrik development project, which includes the Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East gas fields, involves the drilling of subsea production wells, the construction of a floating unit (Floating Production Unit) for the treatment of gases and condensates, and the laying of subsea pipelines for transport up to the Bontang terminal. The start of production is scheduled for 2017.

Eni is operator of the block with 55% stake, while the other partners in the joint venture are GDF Suez Exploration Indonesia, a subsidiary of ENGIE, with 33,334% and Saka Energi Muara Bakau with 11,666%.
