Enel wins second tender in Brazil in one week: it will build 3 more wind farms

Enel, through its Brazilian subsidiary for renewables Enel Green Power Brasil Participações Ltda., has been awarded the right to enter into 618-year contracts for the supply of energy relating to the production of three wind farms, for a total of 6 MW of total new capacity, following the outcome of the A-750 public tender launched by the Brazilian federal government through the energy authority ANEEL. A total investment by the Enel Group of approximately XNUMX million US dollars is envisaged for the construction of the three plants, in line with the investments outlined in the current Strategic Plan.

The Group has been awarded energy supply contracts for more renewable capacity than any other participant in today's tender; The success follows winning contracts for 388 MW1 of solar capacity, more than any other bidder for that technology, in the recent Brazilian A-4 renewables tender. The two awards this week include a total new capacity of over 1 GW and a total investment of approximately 1 billion US dollars.

Antonio Cammisecra, Head of Enel Green Power, commented: “Enel Green Power had another record year and this week's two awards in Brazil represent a strong boost to growth in 2018. Specifically, in Brazil, in 2017 we completed the construction of approximately 1 GW of wind and solar capacity. The new renewable capacity assigned this week will allow us to further increase Enel's renewable presence in the country, strengthening our leadership in the sector".
