Enel closes the first half of 2011 showing a good state of health. Revenues reached 38.391 million euros, recording an increase of 10,3% compared to the first half of 2010. Ebitda (gross operating margin) amounted to 8.929 million euros and marked an increase of 0,6%. , while Ebit (operating result) amounted to 6.072 million, a slight decrease (-0,2%) compared to the same period of 2010, discounting higher depreciation, amortization and impairment losses of 62 million euro. The net result of the group reached 2.552 million, totaling an increase of 5,2%. The electricity sold by Enel to end customers in the first six months of 2011 showed an increase of 1,4% compared to the same period of the previous year. The sale of gas, on the other hand, recorded a -6%, above all due to the lower quantities placed on the domestic market (-0,5 billion cubic metres). The total net production of electricity rose by 2,5% compared to the first six months of the previous year. The demand for electricity on the national market grew by 1,6%, while net imports showed a decrease of 1%. "We are very satisfied with the results achieved by the Group in the first half of the year - explained Fulvio Conti, CEO and general manager of Enel - The actions aimed at constantly improving operational efficiency, the commissioning of new generation in renewables in Russia and Spain and the constant attention to optimizing financial management allow us to confirm all the economic-financial objectives already indicated to the market for 2011”.
