Enel: Luigi Ferraris leaves his position as head of Latin America

Luigi Ferraris has resigned from his position as head of Enel's Latin America area, as well as General Manager of the Chilean subsidiary Enersis. The announcement was made by the Italian electricity giant in a note, communicating that Ferraris' decision was made for personal reasons.

The Company will promptly inform the market of the designation of the manager responsible for carrying out the functions indicated above. Ferraris' resignation will become effective from January 29th. For his replacement, which will be chosen in the board meeting at the end of the month, Enel seems to lean towards an internal solution.

“Luigi's resignation – said Enel CEO Francesco Starace – and his decision to leave the Group sadden me. However, we understand and respect his personal motivations. We are losing a manager of notable professional and human qualities. I would like to thank him for the excellent work he has done within our Group and we wish him the best for the future”.

There is also good news for the Italian company: In fact, Enel received the prestigious "Gold Class" award for sustainability in the Sustainability Yearbook 2015 by RobecoSAM, the publication that evaluates the performance in the field of sustainability of the world's leading companies.

Enel is among the only three "Gold Class" awarded globally in the Electric Utilities sector and among only four Italian "Gold Class" companies.
