Enel launches a green bond with a maturity of 2026. The Green Bonds offered by Enel with the opening of the books have a duration of 8 years with a maturity of September 16, 2026 and a fixed rate with a yield in the area of ​​+65 basis points above the midswap rate. The growing interest of investors in green bonds prompted Enel and 8 other large European groups, mainly linked to the world of energy, to launch in December, on the occasion of the Paris 2017 Climate Finance Day, a appeal-promise on the issuance of new bonds linked to the energy transition. The 9 groups that signed up to the agreement have already issued 26 billion green bonds. The operation that will be announced today must therefore be seen in this scenario in which Enel has decided to commit itself and which is now reaching its concrete application.

Enel placed 1,25 billion green bonds a year ago, in January 2017. But it's not the only one. Other large groups – Iren, Intesa Sanpaolo, Hera – launched financing operations during 2017.

SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING

The placement of Enel's green bond launched this morning has been completed: against orders of around 3,4 billion euros, the issue, which will take place through Enel Finance International, will amount to 1,25 billion euros. The bond will mature on September 16, 2026. The final price was set at 47 basis points above the midswap rate against initial indications of a spread of 65 basis points. The operation is managed by Banca Imi, Bnp Paribas, Credit Agricole Cib, Hsbc, Ing, JP Morgan, Mediobanca, Natixis, Smbc Nikko, Societè Generale, Ubi Banca and Unicredit. The issuer is rated Baa2 by Moody's, BBB+ by S&P and BBB+ by Fitch.
