Endesa, dividend increases (+35%)

Profit down but Enel's Spanish subsidiary was still satisfied with 2015 performance, considering that the after-tax profit of its operations in Spain and Portugal rose by 15,6% against increased electricity demand by 1,8% in the area.

The Spanish Endesa (Enel group) accused last year a 67% decline in net income approximately 1,09 billion euro towards 2014 (1,18 billion the expectations of analysts), but intends to propose to the shareholders' meeting a 35% increase in the dividend.

The group declared itself satisfied with the 2015 performance considering that the after-tax profit of its operations in Spain and Portugal rose by 15,6% against a demand for electricity that grew by 1,8% in the area. Furthermore, in 2014 Endesa had recorded a net profit of 3,34 billion thanks to the capital gain realized on the sale of its activities in Latin America to the parent company Enel.

Also last year, Endesa recorded a 1,7% drop in operating profit to 3,04 billion after provisions "intended for a new workforce optimization process" and reduced debt by 20% to 4,32, 2014 billion compared to the end of XNUMX. The CEO Jose Bogas he indicated that Endesa "has faced a very important challenge in an uncertain situation with results that are stable over time and which meet and even exceed the financial targets announced to the markets".
