New agreement between Enav and the French DSNA for the supply of services to the Swiss air traffic manager Skyguide. The order of the total value of 2,8 million euro for Enav, it provides that Skyguide can use the services Coflight Cloud Services , inclusive of maintenance and assistance, for a duration of 5 years.
Coflight Cloud services is the Italian-French project – between the Italian Enav, in fact, and the French air traffic manager DSNA – developed to meet the objectives of the "Single European Sky" and the Sesar program (Single European Sky ATM Research), to improve flight efficiency and air traffic control processes.
Coflight, specifies the ENAV press release, is a latest generation platform for processing flight data, capable of improving flight trajectory forecasts, allowing for optimized route management and, at the same time, reduction of the environmental impact of aviation. The system provides advanced features, such as 4D trajectory predictions, interoperability and standard middleware, to ensure product upgrade and scalability over the long term to include future services.
Furthermore, the digitization of the platform together with the centralization of the system and the cloud delivery, will allow the program to be the first service provider to benefit from the new delivery model.
This model provides the separation between the ATM data provider (Air Traffic Management Data Service Providers) and the user (Air Traffic Service Provider), leveraging on data remoting and strong automation and systems integration, thus ensuring cost optimization and harmonization of technologies at a transnational level.
An operation that takes on a strategic value for Enav rather than a commercial one, as also declared by theChief Executive Officer Paolo Simioni. According to the CEO, this transaction places the company "at the level of technological leadership in Europe with the creation of an innovative system that respects the guidelines of the single sky and demonstrates, once again, how Italy has been able to anticipate the evolution of air traffic management systems”.
