Enav starts selection for drone management

On to drone management partner selection. The Board of Enav has resolved to continue the activities aimed at selecting a private partner for entry into the capital of a NewCo, of which Enav will have the majority of the share capital, for the development and provision of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles services Traffic Management (UTM). The company communicates it.

Enav is in fact a signatory of an agreement signed with ENAC on 3 August 2016, by virtue of which the Company, as a provider of national air traffic management services, undertook to develop and manage a specific air traffic control system for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, the so-called drones) and to define the methods of providing services through the development of a platform that allows the integration of multiple and articulated technologies for the safe movement of remotely piloted aircraft.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Convention itself provides that ENAV can seek the skills of excellence in the reference industrial sectors, with transparent non-discriminatory procedures and in compliance with the reference legislation.

The start of proceeding with the selection of the partner, approved by the BoD on Friday, comes following a request for an expression of interest formalized by the Company last August, to which primary industrial realities responded. The final selection of the industrial partner is expected in the second half of the year.
