Publishing, Gedi: Carlo De Benedetti leaves the presidency to Marco

Marco De Benedetti will be the name proposed to the board of directors of the Gedi publishing group (the one born from the merger between L'Espresso and La Stampa) to succeed his father Carlo to the presidency. According to what was learned on the sidelines of the conference held yesterday in Turin on the future of newspapers, the engineer is therefore leaving the leadership and the new president would be one of his three sons, Marco.

Carlo De Benedetti would thus have decided to leave the last position he holds in the group at 83 years of age having already transferred control to his three sons, Marco, Rodolfo and Edoardo four years ago. According to what has been learned, Marco's name could be proposed in an extraordinary board of directors by his older brother Rodolfo who chairs the parent company Cir and is the reference shareholder of the Gedi group.

In group circles it is noted that this step would complete the generational change that has been taking place for years also in the other companies of the group. Just yesterday the engineer drew the conclusions of the conference 'The future of the newspaper' which saw the major players in the sector meet in Turin with a speech in which he launched the idea of the general states of publishing.
