Dieselgate, VW negotiates 4,3 billion in the USA

Volkswagen raises its hands: the German automotive group admits its guilt on Dieselgate before the US authorities, and negotiates a maxi fine of 4,3 billion dollars to put an end to the civil and criminal charges against it. This was reported by the American agency Bloomberg, according to which the agreement lacks only the approval of the supervisory board of the car manufacturer. The agreement also provides for the explicit admission of guilt by Volkswagen for having placed cars on the US market by circumventing US regulations on pollution with technological tricks.

As mentioned, the agreement has yet to be finalized and at the moment the US Department of Justice has not released any comments. The souped-up engines ultimately turned out to be 11 million vehicles sold worldwide, and the scandal cost then-CEO Martin Winterkorn his job.
